we highly recommend this product if you are in the market for a new disposer. we just replaced our 13 year old insinkerator disposer (which was still going strong) when we put in a new sink and countertops. we previewed the disposer at a "sound" demo center set up in our local home depot. the sound difference between it and other disposers was significant. installed at home, the noise of the water running is louder than the noise of the disposer itself. the only complaint we can make is that the stainless steel casing is too attractive to hide in a cabinet!
